Association of Illustrators

The AOI was established in 1973 to advance and protect illustrator’s rights and encourage professional standards. The AOI is a non-profit making trade association dedicated to its members’ professional interests and the promotion of illustration.
Really useful for finding out rights and regulations, the AOI publishes The Illustrator’s Guide to Law and Business Practice 'a comprehensive guide covers all aspects of the law likely to affect illustrators. It contains recommended terms and conditions, advice on calculating fees, how to write a licence agreement and protect yourself against exploitative practices.'
I think joining the AOI should be free and a service like this made available to everyone not just members, a student fee of £72 a year and £24 joining fee is quite expensive.
